Cygnus is known in Arabic as الدَّجَاجَة (ad-dajāja, “the hen”). * From Arabic الظِّلْف الْفَرَس (aẓ-ẓilf al-faras, “the hoof of the horse”), in reference to Pegasus, or to another “Stallion” constellation known to medieval Arabs.
